scale for eachyear level.
• Band2 is theminimum standard forYear 3

• Band5 is theminimum standard forYear 7
• Band6 is theminimum standard forYear 9
These standards represent increasinglychallenging skillsand require increasinglyhigher scoreson the
NAPLAN scale.
Proficient standards represent a reasonablychallenging level ofperformancewhere studentsneed to
demonstratemore than theminimal skillsexpectedat that year level.Theproficient standards shows
achievement for the top2bands reported forNAPLAN testing.
