Caring and Welcoming Community

Brindabella Christian College is a caring and welcoming school. We aim for each student to feel valued and connected so they can learn well, they can foster respectful relationships, and they can develop personal confidence.

As a Christian educational community, we teach students life skills that are grounded in Christian values that will assist them to live healthy, positive, and purposeful lives. Students are taught to prioritise their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, as good habits formed in these areas during the school years are likely to remain with them for life.

To maintain a safe and nurturing environment, all students are expected to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct, which encourages wise and acceptable behaviours. Our behaviour expectations are based on our ‘WISE’ values of Wisdom, Integrity, Service and Excellence and ‘ROCK’ values of Respect, Obedience, Confidence and Kindness. They are also based on our belief that all people are created in God’s image and are worthy of dignity and respect; we are all called to encourage one another and pursue peace, and we are all accountable for our actions.

To enhance student wellbeing, all students are given opportunities to lead and serve within the College, their local community, and globally. Students work together to create a positive culture through Connect classes, Chapels and Assemblies, Inter-House Competitions, Camps, Socials, and many other community-building events. Our Student Wellbeing team consists of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who work across both campuses.

Our whole approach is to activate hope in our students.

At Brindabella Christian College, we believe in nurturing every aspect of our students’ growth, ensuring they flourish not just academically, but also socially and spiritually. Our caring community creates a secure and supportive environment where students are encouraged to explore their full potential.
At the heart of our holistic approach to well-being is our dedicated Chaplain. More than just a guide, our Chaplain is a mentor, offering a listening ear, insightful guidance, and unwavering spiritual support. It’s this personalised care that makes our school a truly welcome place for every student.
Our Chaplain also spearheads the implementation of impactful wellbeing programs like Seasons of Growth, PeaceWise, and URStrong. These initiatives are carefully woven into our curriculum, championed by our teachers, and supported by our Chaplain, reinforcing a community ethos rooted in Christian values. Through these programs, students gain invaluable life skills, learn to navigate the challenges of life with resilience, and develop a strong sense of self and community.

At Brindabella Christian College, we deeply value the contributions and sacrifices of our Defence families. Recognising the unique challenges they face, our Defence School Mentor supports the children, families and members of the Australian Defence Force as they transition in and out of the school community and across curriculum jurisdictions upon relocations or postings, ensuring they have a seamless transition and positive experience within our school community.
Our Defence School Mentor is dedicated to making every Defence family feel informed, connected, and supported. Transitioning to a new school environment can be overwhelming, but our Mentor is here to guide you through every step, ensuring your child has access to the best resources for their development.
Creating opportunities for Defence students to build relationships and establish a strong sense of community is a priority. Through specially tailored events and initiatives, our Defence School Mentor helps students forge valuable connections, share experiences, and thrive within our caring environment.
If you’re a Defence family moving to Canberra, we warmly invite you to reach our Defence School Mentor, who is eager to assist with your transition, offering insights into our College and the Canberra community. No question is too big or small – if we don’t have the answer, we’ll find it for you!

It’s never been more challenging for parents to raise happy, healthy and resilient children. Like never before, parents need to be informed with clear, fact-based information on the many challenges faced by today’s youth. Topics such as youth anxiety, depression, self-harm, drug and alcohol use, cyberbullying and many others need clear explanation and guidance.
