Our Library Vision:
The role of the Library is to facilitate learning in accordance with our Christian philosophy of education. We seek to support the College in advancing a community of Wisdom, Integrity, Service and Excellence in and through Christian Education.
The Library aims to offer services and resources to support all members of the Brindabella community in becoming critical thinkers, lifelong learners and effective users of information in a variety of formats and media.
Brindabella Christian College Library was named as one of Australia's Great School libraries in 2015: https://fair.alia.org.au/greatschoollibraries
Library Activities
All classes from K-4 have a weekly lesson time in the Library. During this time they have the opportunity to borrow books as well as take part in a lesson focussing on literature appreciation or information literacy. Students in Years 5 and 6 come to the Library each fortnight as part of their English program.
The Library also hosts a number of special events during the year including author visits, National Simultaneous Story Time, The Chief Minister’s Reading Challenge, Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge, Great Book Swap and Book Week activities.
Students at the Lyneham Campus ELC also have the opportunity to visit the Library each week for borrowing and story time with Miss Ann. Charnwood students have access to their own Library for borrowing and weekly visits from Miss Ann.
The Library offers a comfortable and inviting work environment for all students wishing to read or complete work during lunch breaks or study periods.
